Living in the heart of Amsterdam, looking out over the Amstel? Looking for a cool loft-style apartment with an industrial atmosphere? A home with a minimum of three bedrooms and a huge garden? This wonderful apartment really has it all. The front of the house does not suggest the enormous amount of space that will be revealed behind this façade. An unconventional look, renovated by architectural design, with a fantastic deep garden where you will enjoy the summer sunshine until around 6 p.m. In addition, this house offers multiple opportunities, such as a home office or the adding of an additional bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Want to know more? Please call us to make an appointment for a viewing - without any obligation - as you can only see with your own eyes something that cannot be put into words. This house is truly one of a kind!
The Weesperzijde is located on the east bank of the river Amstel. This leafy street is characterised by 19th century historic and listed buildings. Along the quay you will find many renowned cafés and restaurants, such as Hesp, the Ysbreker, Girassol and Weesper, and most of them have a wonderful outdoor terrace by the water. At approximately 100 metres there is the recently opened restaurant Côte Wispe, and just around the corner is Benji's, a great place for coffee or lunch. Another great location to visit is the Volkshotel, for a late-night cocktail or an early morning breakfast on the rooftop terrace. You can go running along the Amstel, and there is swimming and fitness centre around the corner in the Vondelgym Oost on the Wibautstraat. There is plenty of public transport as there are various trams, buses at walking distance, and the Amstel metro and railway station is around the corner. The city centre is only a few minutes away by bike. There is parking in front of the house (permit required, according to the municipality website there is currently no waiting list), and it will take only a few minutes to reach the A10 ring road.
LAYOUT OF THE HOUSE:
Entrance hall with an amazing, large open plan living area with kitchen. The high ceiling (2.98 m!!) will immediately give you a wonderful sense of space. The meter cupboard, toilet and cloakroom are cleverly hidden in the design. The back garden can be reached through the double French patio doors. The back garden has a surface area of about 110 m2 and has several seating areas. The depth of the garden makes it possible to enjoy the sun until around 6 o'clock in the evening. The back garden also borders onto a beautiful park-style courtyard garden of an apartment building on the Wibautstraat, so it is peaceful and green, and we promise lots of singing birds. In the summer this will be a large, green oasis; you will see nothing but greenery and the many trees hide the apartment building and the apartments on the right from your sight.
Let's step back into the house: the living area on the ground floor can be easily closed off from the sleeping area by a sliding door. Behind the sliding door there are two (children's) bedrooms with a built-in bed with storage space, a spacious walk-in wardrobe and the bathroom. The design of the bathroom is wonderfully light in colour and has no tiles. The basement can be reached via a staircase. This floor also boasts a high ceiling (lowest point 2.12 m and highest point 2.46 m) and offers more possibilities than we can describe here. The current layout includes a work/play room, a master bedroom, a space for white goods and a very large space where you can easily realise an office or additional bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The current owners have already made a plan to access the basement directly from the front door, so having a home office or practice is even easier to realise.
- Situated on privately owned land!
- Very fast metro connection, metro station Wibautstraat is literally around the corner, so you can reach Amsterdam Central Station within 10 minutes, and Schiphol Airport in 25. It is also just a 5-minute walk to the Amstel station;
- In the summer you can rent an electric boat at the Weesperhaven, which is a 5-minute walk from the house;
- The Weesperzijde is happening; the many restaurants and new cafés make it a lively and vibrant area, and especially in the summer, the quay is a great and sociable place to be.
- The basement has a very constant temperature; it is nice and cool in the summer and comfortable in the winter, and it is extremely quiet. A perfect place to sleep, to work undisturbed or just to relax.
