Prinsengracht 160, 1016 HA Amsterdam.
This splendid canal house called “Overnes” dates from 1625. It is a well-maintained, beautiful national monument with authentic details. Situated in the very special historic centre of Amsterdam on the edge of the Jordaan. The sunny building has a living area of 252 m² (NEN). It’s truly unique location on the Prinsengracht offers views of the Westertoren and the Anne Frank House. At the rear it has a spacious terrace. The house is currently in use as a single dwelling, but because of the two front doors and the layout it is also suitable for several residential units.
The building is serviced by two front doors. Facing it to the right is the access to the first floor and on the left to a landing and the staircase leading to the upper floors. There is a connecting door, so all floors can be reached by either front door.
Entrance to the ground floor. This floor features a spacious living room with high ceilings, but it is also perfectly suitable for an office at home. At the rear is a raised seating area or mezzanine. This room gives access to the sunny garden terrace. Under the mezzanine is a basement and cellar with plenty of storage space.
At the rear is the sitting room with a working open fireplace. The dining area is located at the front and in between the fitted open kitchen. The kitchen has a long counter topped in red imperial granite and is equipped with all appliances. One of the side walls has a window for extra light.
There are two rooms on the second floor. At the rear you have the master bedroom with an adjoining bathroom. The bathroom contains a bath, toilet, sink, design radiator and space as well as electrical connections for a washer and dryer. At the front a very spacious room, and a walk-in closet, with a beautiful view of the Westertoren. The master bedroom can be equally reached by a spiral staircase from the living room on the first floor.
The third floor has two rooms and a bathroom. At the front is a spacious room with a fitted (or custom-made) kitchenette and at the rear a spacious bedroom. The bathroom has a bath, shower, toilet and sink. Above is an attic running the length of the building.
The building is located on a beautiful bend of the Prinsengracht opposite the Westertoren and the Anne Frank House. In the vicinity there are the numerous shops and cafes of the Jordaan, the Noordermarkt with the organic market on Saturday and the `9 Straatjes'. Central Station is a 10-minute walk away and trains, trams, buses and metros depart from there in all directions. Major roads serving Amsterdam are easily accessible by car.
