Nieuwezijds Kolk 1A, 1012 PV Amsterdam
Special and unique loft apartment of approximately 110 m2 located in a beautiful monumental building (former liqueur distillery) in the heart of the city center.
The building was built around 1909 for liquor distillery and wine merchant "De Wildeman" from the firm Levert & Co. The company was situated around the corner on the Nieuwendijk, but had to leave because of (later canceled) expansion plans of the Bijenkorf, which was then still located on the Nieuwendijk. The liquor distillery continued to exist until the 60s.
In 1998 the building was officially split into apartments and nowadays it is inhabited and loved for its authentic details such as the facing brick above the front door, a beautiful large fireplace, almost 5 meters high ceilings, original ornaments, large windows with stained glass, unique view and an original safe.
The apartment is situated in a lively location in the heart of Amsterdam, on one of the beautiful historic squares of Amsterdam, in the middle of the bustling city center. Around the corner you will find a wide range of international restaurants and cafes. In the small connecting streets between the main canals you will find the Nine Streets with special shops and boutiques. Central Station and Dam Square are within walking distance. The public transport facilities are fully available.
Through the spacious shared entrance with beautiful stone staircase you walk to the first floor. At the entrance of the house is a separate toilet. The spacious living room with fantastic high ceilings, high stained-glass windows, new concrete floor and a beautiful fireplace is located at the front of the apartment. Open kitchen with kitchen bar, equipped with various appliances and plenty of storage space is at the rear. The newly renovated, luxurious bathroom with bath and walk-in shower is also located at the rear.
The modern steel staircase leads you to the upper floor. At this floor you will find the bedroom, custom made walk-in closet, extra room that can be used in various ways (think of lounge, study or nursery), and in a separate (spacious) storage room with connection for the washer and dryer.
On the first floor there are also two large storage rooms, one of which is in the former built-in safe with original safe door.
Parking is possible on public roads and in parking garage Nieuwendijk (entrance at 50m from home) through the permit system. In addition, the residents of this area have the unique opportunity to rent a parking space in the 'Nieuwendijk' garage by means of a ‘residents parking permit’ (currently a waiting list, ask for information at Q-park).
