- Distinctive detached house in the centre of Aalsmeer
- Large bedroom that is the full width of the house
- Modernisation is required
- Private path to a waterway (Kerkwetering)
This house was built at the beginning of 1900. The centre of Aalsmeer was a very different place at the time. There were shops on both sides and flowers were brought to the auction by boat.
Many changes took place in the centre over the years. Many new houses were built and the shopping centre was redeveloped. Some of the houses that were built at the beginning of the previous century remain, however, and largely define the centre’s character. This house is one of them, a distinctive property in an attractive location.
While the current owner enjoyed living in the house, its modernisation proved to be a bridge too far. He stopped the large-scale renovation work that was started with gusto following the purchase of the house and wishes to leave the challenge to a new owner. For someone with advanced DIY skills, the house has the potential to become a very fine home.
A long private path leads from the garden to the Kerkwetering waterway. While the path is too narrow for there to be a berth as such, other homeowners secure their boats at a right angle to the shoreline, which could also be done at the end of the path.
