This concerns a charming studio apartment located at a fantastic historical location in the very centre of Amsterdam on Krom Boomssloot. The apartment is located on the second storey of a beautifully renovated apartment complex with elevator and is equipped with all modern conveniences. On the front side the apartment has two windows from floor to ceiling and patio doors opening to a french balcony with a fabulous view over the water.

The apartment is located in the well-maintained apartment building d 'Oude Jumbo, where the factory of toy manufacturer Jumbo was established for more than 100 years. D'Oude Jumbo is a complex of five buildings (from the 17th and 18th centurie) on the Krom Boomssloot and Oudeschans. D 'Oude Jumbo was completely renovated in 2006 and converted into luxury apartments with private parking and elevator.

Krom Boommsloot is situated in the very heart of central Amsterdam in the Lastage neighbourhood (near Nieuwmarkt). It’s around the corner from the vibrant Nieuwmarkt, with all its lively cafés and restaurants and the farmer’s market on Saturdays. In walking distance are the Amsterdam Public Library, the Amsterdam Conservatory, the NEMO Science Centre and Waterlooplein, where the Dutch National Opera is located.

Krom Boomssloot dates back about five centuries. The canal was named after the 16th-century shipbuilder and mayor Cornelis Pieterszoon Boom. He had two ditches expanded into canals around 1530, Recht Boomssloot and Krom Boomssloot, so he could connect his shipyard on Lastage to the IJ. The canal was chosen in 2007 as one of Amsterdam's most beautiful streets.

The apartment is easily accessible, both by public transport and by car. Amsterdam Central Station is within walking distance (10 min.), and there is an underground station near Nieuwmarkt with various lines to Central Station. There are also bus connections from Prins Hendrikkade. The location vis-a-vis the IJ Tunnel, the Piet Hein Tunnel and the Coen Tunnel is extremely convenient, so much so that you will be on the motorway within 10 minutes.

Through the recently painted common entrance, you reach the second storey by elevator or via one of the two stairwells. Entrance to the house, hall with separate toilet and a spacious closet with washing machine and heating installation. The L-shaped living room has high floor-to-ceiling windows and a French balcony with beautiful views over the canal. Attached you'find the open kitchen which is equipped with built-in appliances. The sleeping area is separated from the living area through a custom made room diver and the luxurious bathroom has a bath with shower, sink and towel radiator. neighborhood information

This area is known as the quiet part of Amsterdam Centrum. Amsterdam East is an environmentally friendly area with canals and important cultural buildings. These characteristics make this part of Amsterdam ideal as a residential area. Unlike downtown this area consists of many young couples who are starting with their careers. East and the eastern islands and the old harbor-area is still relatively vacant, but that will change in the upcoming years with the Weesper- and Plantagebuurt still in development.
