Abcoude comes with various bus connections and has a train station with direct connections to Amsterdam and Utrecht. Characteristic for Abcoude is the pleasant village-like character with good amenities for daily needs (various supermarkets, Hema, two bakeries, several clothing shops, hair salons, a bicycle shop, two large drugstores, a greengrocer, a caterer, a liquor store and two butchers).
