The Iepenlaan area is undergoing tremendous change. Whereas in the past there were mainly nurseries and many of the plots were both residential and business locations, detached homes are being developed and the area is becoming a purely residential one. Greenhouses were removed to create a park-like environment between the ‘Firing Line’, part of the historical Defence Line of Amsterdam, and Iepenlaan. Beautiful detached homes are now rising where commercial buildings equipped with dock shelters once stood.
Iepenlaan 31 is a solidly built, large house that stands on a generous plot of land. Although maintenance was somewhat neglected in recent years, the basic condition of the house remains good and modernisation would certainly be worthwhile. While the garage behind the home was once logically situated, it now obstructs the view. Relocating it would therefore be the best option.
Although De Kwakel is part of the municipality of Uithoorn, it has an identity that is all its own. Very favourably located between Aalsmeer and Uithoorn, major road links to numerous destinations are only a few minutes away by car. The N201 provincial road means that Schiphol airport is only a short trip away, while the A4 motorway provides a convenient route to Amsterdam and The Hague. Shops in Aalsmeer and Uithoorn are within easy distance, as is the shopping centre in Amstelveen. In other words, the home provides the peace of country living and all the conveniences of being right at the heart of the dynamic Randstad conurbation.
