Detached mansion in the Entreegebied area in Amsterdam North: living spacious in a green environment on the frontier of the city, the village Schellingwoude and Waterland with its polders and views.
A freestanding mansion on the IJsselmeerweg in the Entreegebied, location which develops rapidly in Amsterdam North with more detached houses, lying on the frontier with the city and close by a row of mansions. At this location, 14 parcels were issued in private commissioning for the construction of detached city villas. This creates a new piece of city with daring new designs developed by entrepreneurs who want to make something special of this place.
Starting points for the design of this mansion are the location on the water, the free view over the water and the green environment. The optimal use of these environmental qualities resulted in this compact but very spacious villa with 190 m2 of living space on a parcel of 183 m2.
The entrance area is located in the Eastern part of Amsterdam North, along the Zuiderzeeweg. In recent years, many new homes and facilities have been built in North, including a new shopping center on the Waterlandplein, a community center with a library and 2 new community schools.
The Entreegebied stands for rural North, thinking about the nearby Waterland with its spacious polders and monumental farms.
Peaceful environment, trees and space and at the nearby Schellingwoude, a picturesque village just above the IJ. Lying along the old Waterlandse Zeedijk between Nieuwendam and Durgerdam, within the boundaries of the A10, at the end of the Oranjesluizen.
The Entreegebied area is only a ten minute drive from Amsterdam. The Schellingwoude bridge, the Zeeburgertunnel and ferries link the North with the city center, making it possible to reach theatres, museums, lively terraces and trendy restaurants, but also the sports clubs and shops in no time. For daily groceries there is also more than enough supply in the shopping centers of Amsterdam-North.
Because of its modest brick architecture and slightly sloping roof, the design seeks alignment with the post-war housing architecture of the adjacent district. When designing the façade, a refined detailing was chosen. The design draws its strength from the carefully detailed masonry in a warm yellowish brown nuanced stone combination with broken white painted wooden frames, slender steel fencing and tightly plastered eaves.
Comfortable and durable:
This to be built mansion is delivered semi-casco, ie. without kitchen but with a bathroom and bathroom supplies according to the technical description, has a living area of total aproxx. 190 m² over 3 (three) floors. It offers plenty of room for work at home, has four bedrooms and a separate walk-in closet to use as a 5th bedroom or office. A sheltered garden, South-West oriented and roof terrace on the 1st floor offer plenty of space to enjoy the sun outside. The parcel has a depth and a width of 14 meters from which a rectangle has been removed for the purpose of a parking space for the neighbours, with a house of 12 meters by 9 meters built on it. The garden runs on the South-West side around the house.
The building has an extension part which is situated more in the back from the building line for a clear distinction with the building; a masonry plant tray brings both parts in balance and connects both. The entrance is situated behind the façade for a chic look.
An extra quality has been brought in by working with a split level so that the living room and master bedroom have much higher ceilings to make them extra spacious.
HR ++ glazing, very well insulated with a high Rc value, solar panels on the roof and the use of underfloor heating make the house very energy efficient.
From the spacious entrance hall one enters the elongated kitchen on one side. This changes into the living room with a generous floor height of over 4 meters and large windows with front and garden façade. From the smaller window in the front façade there is a view over the longitudinal direction of the water. At the back side of the house you reach the garden through French doors.
Through the hallway there is a toilet on the other side and a spacious storage room with its own door to the garden and the parking place on site for the car.
On the first floor a bedroom, a bathroom and a closet room (possibly 5th work and / or bedroom) are situated. Half a floor higher is the master bedroom above the living room with a high ceiling reaching the roof. This bedroom offers access to a private roof terrace.
The second floor offers space for two more bedrooms. In the construction there is also space for a storage room and a toilet accessible from the hall. The staircase is equipped with windows creating upper light.
