Elsrijk is a large neighbourhood in Amstelveen. The area consists of some smaller neighbourhoods which all have their own characteristics. The bulk of the area consists of low buildings, but also high rise buildings are available in the area. Characteristic for Elsrijk is the amount of ditches, these ditches arenít only beautiful but also useful in leading water away. Elsrijk is a good example of a green built area before 1940. The neighbourhood has several shops and hospitality.
