The Jordaan is one of the most well-known neighbourhoods in Amsterdam. It is an amazing area to live, go out and have some fun. The Jordaan’s best features are created by their history, the residents and its urban character. Within the Jordaan you can find several small streets with beautifully restored buildings, there are plazas and public gardens, but also canals and streets where you can find marketplaces and small shops. These attractive features of the Jordaan can mostly be found on the North side of this neighbourhood, the southern part is in comparison to the North more described as residential area.
